VR BALANCE was born from a clear conviction: gender equality isn’t achieved by policies alone, but by experiences that transform how we see and feel the world. Universities, women’s associations, and tech companies joined forces to use virtual reality for training that inspires, moves, and catalyzes lasting mindset change.

Even today, gender inequality hides in everyday life:
Traditional awareness campaigns, while valuable, often fail to reach people at an emotional level. And without that emotional connection, real change is hard to achieve.
This is where technology becomes a powerful ally for change.
With VR BALANCE, participants don’t just read a manual or attend a lecture — they step into someone else’s shoes and experience inequality firsthand.
In collaboration with MetaMedicsVR, we designed immersive simulations that recreate real-life scenarios such as:
The magic of VR lies in its ability to make you feel rather than just observe. Once you feel something deeply, you stop being a spectator — you become part of the change.
On top of the VR experiences, the project also includes a digital training platform with multilingual resources for educators, companies, and organizations eager to promote equal opportunities.
Participants feel everyday inequality—micro-biases, work–life challenges, leadership barriers—creating an emotional connection that laws or lectures alone can’t spark.
Post-session reflections and debates reveal tangible changes in perception and behaviour across more than 100 early participants.
A digital, multilingual platform and consortium of four European countries ensure the experience reaches diverse workplaces, schools and communities.
